Vegetable Gardening Books

Here are books that you should look at adding to your garden library

Purchase Description
Square Foot Gardening - Mel Bartholomew

A good method for gardening when you don't have a lot of space. Use it for your entire garden or just follow his principles for an area that you want to do some intense gardening
The Ultimate Guide to Backyard Bugs Garden Insects of North America - Whitney CranshawThe best way to control a bug is to know a bug. This book has great photos and information and sit next to me when the bugs visit my garden.

Vegetable Gardener's Bible - Ed Smith

Lots of great information. More tailored to the north eastern United States.

Don't agree that you should lay garlic in the sun to dry as it can cook them.

Golden Gate Gardening

Golden Gate Gardening - Pam Peirce

If you live in the San Francisco area, this is the gardening MUST HAVE book. I think any regionalized book beats a general informaiton book any day hands down and Pam has done a great job for our area. I have read and reread, had her sign it and read again.

Grow Great Garlic - Ron Engeland

I love to grow different types of garlics and find what works well in my area. Ron gives you very detailed information about garlic, the origins, the different types and how to grow it.
