| Any Plant help would be appreciated. By jdecola See comments 2008-04-29 | As you can see I have plenty of space available still. What other things can I add without over crowding my exsisting plants? Thanks |
| Mixing in herbs By roystahl See comments 2008-04-29 | Do you have a separate herb garden? If not you may want to add some thyme, oregano, basil to make sauces with when your tomatoes are ready. NOTHING beats herbs that are home grown. You could also grow corn or watermelon. BTW, until you select a location and save where you are, no one else can see you. Just enter your zip code and then people in your area will be able to see your garden. |
| Plants that shade. By roystahl See comments 2008-05-01 | Hi, Just saw you making some more updates to your garden and so I took a peek. One thing that crossed my mind is you have tall plants on both sides of your garden. If the left or right of the screen represents South, that is no bigger, or you plan to plant your corn or sunflowers a bit later to give other plants their time in the sun. If you are doing the outside as a border, then ignore my comments. I try to visualize what the garden will look like mid-summer before I get to that stage. |
| ANTS!!! By jdecola See comments 2008-05-07 | I have lots of them. Little, Big, some with wings. What should I do? |
| Pests By jdecola See comments 2008-05-27 | Something is eating my Romain lettuce. I am not sure if it is an animal or bugs. If it was an animal wouldn't it all be gone? |
| inivited dinner guests By roystahl See comments 2008-05-28 | jdecola, Can you post a picture on the forum or email me a picture. Lettuce is tender and easy to eat and is a target of many uninvited guest. animals will eat from the top down and there won't be holes in the leaves. snails will leave a silvery trail somewhere around the leaf or ground catipillars will put holes in leaves and sometimes leave dark pellets. Search in the center of some plants to see if you can find one. |
