Post Tomatoes
Am I suppose to break off the lower leaves of my tomato plants? Or does it make a difference?

Post Tomatoes and sucker branches
In some respects it depends on how you want the plant to grow.
If you cut off all the lower branches, you are encouraging the plant to grow up and you will need to stake it to encourage this growth.
If you want your tomato to branch out more like a bush you can encourage a few lower branches to grow.

Once you get your tomato growing and you want the plant to focus more energy on tomatoes, then you want to trim off any sucker branches (stems that don't have blossoms on the ends.)

Some times when I transplant tomatoes into the ground I will have blossoms or maybe tiny tomatoes. These I often remove as the plant is too small and I want the plant to focus on getting established. Soon I change my strategy and start trimming the suck branches. I grow tomatoes in different locations and some I let sprawl out and others I encourage to grow straight up a stake.

Lots of information, and I don't know if this it too little too late.
