Post Bug is eating tops off newly sprouted plants
Started tomato plants from seed this year. The seeds sprouted normally but just after sprouting, the top leaves started to disappear. About 3 plants a day until all 2 dozen plants where gone. I thought it was aphids, so I sprayed them with Ortho Max but it stop it. What bug is doing this and how can I stop it?

Thanks for your help.

Post eating plants
Aphids don't eat plants. They suck the sap out of the leaves, still very damaging when you have lots of them.

Did you use potting soil or soil from outdoors? If it is from your garden, then you may have brought something indoors. If potting soil, then you have to look around to see what you could have picked up.

Sometime damping off disease can look like a bug got your plant. This is caused by too much water and the plant may loose leaves or rot at the base next to the roots and fall over.

If you can post a picture, that may have additional clues.
