Post Storing Seed Potatoes
I ordered seed potatoes a couple of weeks ago, didn't think they would ship yet but they arrived yesterday. How should I store them until time to plant? Thanks in advance for any advice.

The two most important things to provide are:
1) Cool (not freezing 40F+)
2) Dry

You can store them in a dark place, but if they start to sprout, they need some light or they will get long, weak, stringy shoots where it tries to get to sunlight and these will break off and weaken the potato more.

If they start to sprout, stay with cool and dry, just get them some sunlight and try to get them in the ground as soon as it is safe to do so.

I often have shoots on the seed potatoes that I keep and they do fine. The biggest mistake I ever made (20-20 hindsight) was to put the seed potatoes in a mesh bag (You don't want to deprive them of oxygen either) But they grew out of the mesh bag and got tangled in it before I got them in the ground.
