will we be able to add the SFG to circles and curves in the future?

Post SFG on curves and circle 
The answer is not in the immediate future.

HOWEVER, here's a "cheater's way" to make SFG work (see attached image), and I see that you've done it in your garden. Great job!

Create a circle. Then create a rectangle or square. Turn on the SFG grid for the square. Put that square on top of your circle.

Now you've got a grid for your circular garden or container. The edges will not be perfectly set as square foot areas, but the bulk of the space will be divided in SF.
