I'm in zone 3 and we had a touch of frost last night (better be the last one, darnnit!!). I'm a fairly recent transplant from zone 8 so wasn't quite sure what to do, but I remembered the old wives tale that if you put water on the plants/seedlings before the sun hits them, they'll be OK. So I went ahead and put my sprinkler on for a bit this morning before the sun touched the garden. Is there anything to this old wives tale? Is it true? - Diane

I don't know if it works but I have heard that also & when it freezes down here if the fruit trees are blooming they spray them with water. I am in zone 6.
