I planted rhubarb last year but it still isn't very big. What do I need to do to get those great big stakes?

Is it in full sun? how is the dirt? sandy, loamy, clay? it takes 2 to 3 years to get big and the first year try not to pick to much. did you cover the first winter and in spring uncover? after 2 to 3 years should not have to cover at all, will be like a weed then and the only way to kill it would be to mow and mow it down for a few times.
did you amend the soil before you planted?
is it windy and if so do you have a small wall or something to help with wind?
are the leaves green with no bug holes in them? or are green with some small brown rips? like some thing eating leaf? how much rain/water did it get? how hot is it there?
rhubarb likes cold so if you live in south may have to grow in pot and in shade and to get the sugar in the spring may have to dig roots and place in frig for 30 to 60 days or less would have to look that up online. Hope this helps
